On behalf of Berco, ET Projects replaced an acoustic exhaust silencer with a new model that provides better noise reduction. The original silencer did not meet the required damping levels, making it impossible for the car mat milling machine to operate without causing disturbances. Based on the available data, ET Projects designed and manufactured a new acoustic exhaust silencer, taking into account the limited space around the existing silencer.

Before installing the new silencer, it was necessary to dismantle the old one from the milling machine.

There were two options for removing the old silencer:

  • Completely disconnecting the wiring and plugs to create enough space to detach and remove the exhaust silencer.
  • Carefully removing the old silencer with a handsaw and mounting the new silencer on a support. This approach allowed all wiring to remain connected to the milling machine, eliminating the need to remove electrical connections.

Ultimately, option 2 was chosen, and the old acoustic silencer was carefully removed. The new silencer was placed on an elevated support, ensuring that all wiring and components remained connected to the machine.

To mount the silencer at a different height, adjustments were required to the exhaust pipe leading to the filter unit. ET Projects carried out these modifications on-site, custom-fitting the pipes to ensure a perfect installation. The exhaust silencer was then securely and leak-free connected to the filter system, allowing the milling machine to operate at full capacity with a significantly quieter exhaust system.
